From the Gospel according to Matthew 17, 1-9
At that time, Jesus took Peter, James and his brother John and led them on a high mountain. And he was transfigured before them: and his face shone like the sun and his garments became white as light. And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, talking with him.
Speaking, Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is for us to be here! If you want, let us make here three tents, one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah. " He was still speaking when a bright cloud covered them with his shadow. And a voice from the cloud saying, "This is my Son, the Beloved: in him I am well pleased. Listen to him. "
heard this, the disciples fell on their faces and were terrified. But Jesus came and touched them and said, "Get up and do not be afraid." Looking up they saw no one but Jesus only.
While coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, "Tell no one the vision, before the Son of man is raised from the dead.
