Abigail Restrained Elegance

mildew and squash blossoms

The battle with powdery mildew continues daily, with new leaves of zucchini ripped as captured by the fungus and rations of milk and water every three days.
I also got to water early in the morning, to ensure that moisture does not form overnight, making it easier to lie with powdery mildew, as well as having both internally ventilated unmetroquadro , thinning the tomatoes, and externally, by moving the mobile that the west has repaired the garden from the cold winter wind (Mistral).

Another lesson learnt, and 'what not to sow NEVER' s so densely, like I 'also stressed in recent months. Maybe 'was this element to trigger the presence of the invader.

On a note more 'pleasant, I learned the difference between male and female zucchini flowers, a matter previously completely unknown to me. The male flowers are those with the rod up and are the first to bloom, while females grow zucchini topped the real (if I understood correctly). There is also a technique to pollinate these flowers, but I do not think I will venture there '.

The next step is' to build the structure for the second row of tomatoes, cimarli (three weeks that I say and not do) and finally see flowers grow and, hopefully, the first tomatoes.
