9, the month of Av in the Jewish calendar falls on the day of mourning, Tisha Beav. And 'one of the major fasts of Judaism after the Yom Kippur. It is a day of atonement Yom Kippur, but as a day of mourning. Some have said that Tisha Beav was the saddest day in Jewish history.
the 9th of Av of the year -586 of the Christian era, Nebuchadnezzar II marched on Jerusalem and destroyed the city and the first time, forcing the Jewish people in Babylon.
the 9th of Av, 656 years later, Titus destroyed the Second Temple, Jerusalem, burning and hunting Jews outside of Palestine.
on 9 Av is for this reason considered the beginning of the two exiles.
The fast lasts 25 hours from sunset to the appearance of the first three-star hotel the next day.
As on Yom Kippur, we observe a complete fast (no food and no drinks).
