1 / 4.
Small phalaenopsis had grown enough, though not uniformly, and counting the ripicchiettaggio was made in October 2009, I thought it was already the case or ripicchiettare or sfiascare. Since the substrate transplants ready for use if I have more, and with the hot weather these days want to put to boil substrates I have not, here we are. The plants seem in great shape. The substrate was pretty hard, and then the "roots substrate" if they are not developed and many are those who have grown quite thin. And this is another proof that we must keep the soil as soft as possible. They've developed rather than those of fine hairy.
Solito thorough washing of small phalaenopsis with warm water and a soft brush to remove all traces of agar. The conclusions are that the roots so to speak hairless are harder and delicate those "hairy" and tend to break. The second is that those hairy also have the feature to adhere to other plants and are probably the ones with which the plant clings to the bark of trees in nature.
The transplant was done in part on epiweb and partly on a mix of bark and a long fiber sphagnum. The
epiweb is this kind of sponge made of synthetic material which I'll discuss in a future article and that seems to give good results.
As for the traditional medium, I now understand that it is used pure sphagnum rather difficult to control the humidity. Probably that I am wrong something, but do some effort to ensure that it is just evenly moist. Or I end up soaked and I'm rotting plants, or is too dry and shrivel me. So I chose a mix of bark and moss with plenty of the first than the second. In this way the soil dries out a bit 'faster than just moss, but the water is stagnant and you can moisten evenly with a watering almost traditional. I know some off their plants, wet sphagnum, the pinch, and then lose out on the plants. But I begin to have a number and with this system leaves me half a day every time I water. Now both
sleeve Epi-web, and two jars with substrate bark-sphagnum, went to keep company with the other box-greenhouse with 60-70% humidity and temperatures in these days are perhaps a bit 'too high, between 32 and 36 degrees during the day.
